House of Bread Ministries is an Apostolic church in the heart of the cities with the cities in its heart.
Our ministry sprouted from a small family prayer group, which met weekly at an apartment, then moved to 1762 Pitman Avenue Bronx, New York, from here we blossomed into a church dedicated to serving the Bronx community, and its surrounding areas. By divine direction, in March of 2017 we expanded the House of Bread family, opening our church doors in Mount Vernon Westchester New York, where we purchase our church headquarters at 335 South 4th Avenue . We have further expanded to Key West, Florida, and taking our missionary efforts across the ocean to Jamaica and Haiti.
Our name was purposely, thoughtfully, and prayerfully chosen because it aptly describes the message and mission of our church. House of Bread is the literal translation of the word Bethlehem, the home of King David, and the place of the Messiah’s birth. This is the House of God, a place where one receives and experiences “ the living Bread which came down from heaven” that is an encounter with (the Lord Jesus Christ) speaking both metaphorically of (the spiritual bread) and literally (the physical bread). This is a place of divine substance. A place where the spirit, soul, and body are renewed, strengthened, and healed through Christ.
A House of Spiritual Bread. At House of Bread, the proclamation and exposition of God’s word is the heart and focus of our ministry. It is a place where emphasis are placed on four pillars of faith these are : Love , Prayers , Worship, and Missions. Spiritual food is abundant here because we are led and directed by the Holy Spirit. House of Bread is a place where spiritual hunger is satisfied, a place of new birth, transformation, and restoration. It is also a house of healing. And of miracles, signs, and wonders. A house of total commitment and total surrender to Christ.
A House of Physical Bread. Our House of Bread family takes seriously the Great Commandment to love thy neighbor (Matthew 22:39), and the Great Commission to bring others to the Kingdom (Matthew 28:19). We seek to embody the nature of Jesus Christ, and to emulate Him in our words, thoughts, and deeds. Through God’s goodness, grace, and mercy towards us, we provide food to those who are hungry, clothe those who are needy, and minister to those who need the hope and inspiration offered by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
House of Bread is a church, a ministry, a family. It is a place of love, a place of worship and of fellowship, a place for prayer, praise, and thanksgiving. Most of all, House of Bread is a place where the Holy Spirit dwells, where God’s presence abides, and where our reliance on Him is utter, total, and complete.
